Reopened Bargain Barkers Thrift Store has something for everyone
The shop is a bargain hunter's dream.

The Brakpan SPCA is looking forward to welcoming customers in their new shop at Mall@Carnival.
The local society proudly opened The Bargain Barkers Thrift Store as a pop-up venture located opposite the Telkom store at Mall@Carnival in November.
The shop is now operating from its new permanent home in the mall, next to Game (shop 93). While there are still some finishing touches to add, an official grand reopening was held on Saturday.
The SPCA has been offered a 12-month lease, and the larger space will mean more bargains and more ways to support the SPCA. Every cent goes towards helping the animals in the Brakpan SPCA’s care.
“We were trying to help them, with the focus on animals, and took them under our wings,” said Mall@Carnival centre manager Erna Vermaak.
“The customers loved it and it was helping the SPCA financially, so we wanted to continue supporting them and draw the community. The new store is beautiful and I know they worked really hard.”
The store has second-hand and new items, including a treasure trove for book lovers with a large variety of fiction and non-fiction English and Afrikaans books.
There are different genres, collector encyclopedias, university textbooks, Christian books, self-help books, dictionaries and plenty more.

Shoppers can browse for hours as the store also has a large variety of DVDs and CDs, clothes, vinyl records, jewellery, ornaments and homeware.
Members of the public with pre-loved items in a good and clean condition are welcome to bring them to the store to donate.
The SPCA thanked the mall, Danie van der Westhuizen and the team from SecurElect, customers, staff and supporters.
The store is open during mall trading hours – Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 19:00, Friday from 09:00 to 20:00, Saturday from 09:00 to 18:00, and Sunday and public holidays from 09:00 to 17:00.
